Computer Systems Design Intern

Summer 2018

As an intern at San Jose State University, I worked to help design course curricula as the Computer Engineering Department moved through structural changes. My internship was supplement to the SJDev2 project, and consisted of designing a potential final project for a course on Computer Architecture or Microprocessor Design. For this, I created a MIPS-based embedded system with memory-mapped i/o on an Atrix-7 FPGA platform. The system was simple: a rotary encoder would slowly change the color of several LEDs throughout the visible spectrum. The idea was that this could serve as an example or base-level project for students to build off of over the course of a semester.
