Project Pisces

Software Developer / Microscope Analyst

2018

Project Pisces was a student-run project to tract fish populations in San Jose's Guadalupe River. The river is subject to much pollution, making the efforts of conservationists to track wildlife an extreme challenge. Pisces aimed to solve this issue by deploying a semi-autonomous submersible drone equipped with computer vision models to Identify and track the populations of various fish species during spawning seasons.

My involvement of this project centered around the drone's onboard microscope, which would be used by researchers to analyze bacterial levels in the river. During my involvement, I was responsible for integrating the microscope into the drone and analyzing preliminary samples to help train the computer vision model.
